The Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, has entrusted Ganpat University to host the 38th Inter University WEST Zone Youth Festival, 'SATRANG' 2025.

Competitions

Music Categories & Rules

Detailed event descriptions for participants.

Group Song (Indian)

Only one entry per Institution is allowed. A team has to present Indian group songs. Time for setup and performance is limited. Maximum 6 singers.

Classical Vocal Solo: (Hindustani / Carnatic)

Only one entry per Institution is allowed. Duration of performance: Max 10 minutes. A participant can have up to two accompanists.

Light Vocal (Indian)

Only one entry per Institution is allowed. Time for Stage Setup & Instrument tuning is 2 minutes. Performance duration: 4 to 6 minutes.

Western Vocal Solo

Only one entry per Institution is allowed. Performance duration: 4 to 6 minutes. Choice of song should be western.

Classical Instrumental Solo (Non-Percussion)

Only one entry per Institution is allowed. Duration of performance: Max 10 minutes. Focus on instruments like Sitar, Violin, Flute, etc.

Classical Instrumental Solo (Percussion)

Only one entry per Institution is allowed. Duration of performance: Max 10 minutes. Focus on instruments like Tabla, Mridangam, etc.

Group Songs (Western)

Only one entry per Institution is allowed. Maximum 6 singers. Performance duration: 8 to 10 minutes.

Folk Orchestra

Each University can send only one team. The team shall consist of a maximum of 12 participants. Traditional folk instruments must be used.

Western Instrumental Solo

A participant shall play western music on any percussion or non-percussion instrument. Duration: 5 minutes.
